Detox Week 1

Week one is coming to an end of my first week following Natalia Rose's Detox diet plan.

I did not have any red meat or poultry up until tonight. My roommate's mom is in town so she made us ribs... I couldn't help myself. I didn't complete chow down though--and I made sure to eat a huge salad beforehand as to ward off any temptation to overindulge!

Just to clarify--I am not doing a 100% detoxification (colon cleansing). I am simply trying out this diet to integrate a healthier way of eating. I tried going 100% raw, and I completely failed. That was way too difficult. I would NOT advise anyone to drop everything and go 100% raw unless they have already made adjustments in their diets prior. Going from one extremity to the next is too difficult and not kindly to your body (which enjoys when you taper things off)!

That being said, I have been researching the depths of the detox concept and what it does for your body. The most alarming and intriguing evidence I heard about detoxification was in a NaturalNews.com interview with Eleni Prokopeas from GreenDivaMom.com. Mrs. Prokopeas discussed the effects of vaccinations on her little boy that developed autism--who is now completely cleansed of the disorder because of his mom's consistent detoxification efforts for her family. I was completely stunned after listening to this interview. It is available to download for free at the link above. I would encourage anyone to listen!
